California Law Firm Finds Cost Savings with JoiBiz Business Phone Service

February 3rd, 2010

As companies continue to search for ways to economize, more and more businesses are leveraging communications technology to help them with that goal. Despite the weak economy, officials from JoiBiz, an Atlanta-based communications solution provider, have noticed an uptick in customers seeking its business phone service as a way to save money.

For example, staffers at New Tech Law Group, Inc., a Freemont, Calif.-based law firm signed up for JoiBiz’s hosted PBX (News - Alert) to help with its day-to-day communications with clients, arbitrators, judges and counsel.
JoiBiz’s Hosted PBX service includes call queuing, a dial by name feature, multiple auto-attending, and unlimited caller holding, call conferencing, as well as on demand recording. The service is available for $49.95 a month and includes unlimited lines, channels and extensions.
Benjamin Zarzycki of New Tech Law Group, said JoiBiz helped the firm save on startup costs and monthly service expenses.
“As a law-firm, we have many desk-phones, but rarely use them,” he said. “The competition charges on a "per extension" basis which did not work well for our needs.  Now, we pay a reasonable monthly fee for our hosted PBX and only pay for the minutes we use.”
Beyond the cost savings, Zarzycki said there are other advantages the firm enjoys from JoiBiz. For example, JoiBiz uses standard SIP protocols, which helped the law firm configure SIP softphone applications on mobile phones to connect to JoiBiz services. This lets the staff access its JoiBiz PBX while out of the office using WiFi ( News - Alert) or 3G.
As a result, Zarzycki expects the firm will see a return on our investment in as little as eight month.
“In this poor economy, law firms have been particularly hit hard,” Zarzycki said. “Anywhere we can save helps.”
“The best thing about JoiBiz is that it's just as good as any other phone service,” he said. “I would say that our overall satisfaction is higher with JoiBiz than our prior provider, and after you get your system fully configured, you won't even think about it any longer.  It just works.”
